Ford. Feel the difference. In the crowded market for a mainstream family cars, Ford of Europe has often tried to differentiate itself from rivals such as Opel through the superior handling of its everyday cars. Although this slogan was only adopted in the early 2000s, with cars such as the Focus truly "feeling different" from rivals, long before Ford engineered its cars to have the edge in terms of vehicle dynamics, not least thanks to Ford engineer Richard Perry-Jones who famously instigated the "50 meter" test to make its cars intuitive and rewarding to drive from the get-go, and not only at high speed.
